Ongoing Projects

Most activities at KCL are organized into cross-institutional research and development projects within terminology, learning and communication as well as language technology. Primarily, we are externally financed and have a lot of experience with both national and international project cooperations.

The KIC Project 2010 - Knowledge Information Community
KIC is a learning repository for digital teaching materials. Through funding from Denmark's Electronic Research Library (DEFF), KCL is working on the project: "Knowledge and Information Community (KIC) – the establishment of a learning repository". The project analyses the possible framework, user needs and specific functionality needed to establish a learning repository within the Danish university colleges.

KIC is a learning repository for digital teaching materials that are structured, highly searchable and abides to international technological standards for meta data and reusability. KIC allows teachers to exchange their digital teaching materials in order to improve quality and reduce the resources needed to develop new teaching materials.

The project started in 2009 and will be continued in 2010 through continuous funding from DEFF. In 2010, the focus will be on incorporation of experience and elements from existing national and international learning repositories.
