Distinguished Award in Taiwan for Professor Parikka

Co-director of the Environmental Media and Aesthetics program, professor Jussi Parikka was invited as a distinguished speaker and recipient of the Tamkang University (Taiwan) Clement and Carrie chair. Parikka’s visit in late May 2025 included the lecture on his current research topics on Humanities in the Anthropocene, drawing also on the AUFF funded Design and Aesthetics for Environmental Data project’s research. In addition to the talk as well as an exhibition about his books at Tamkang University Library, Parikka gave a talk at the National Taiwan University on the recent collaborative video/photo essay, Lumi that will be installed at the Lisbon Architecture Triennial later in Autumn 2025. The artistic piece is a collaboration with Abelardo Gil-Fournier as is Parikka’s recent book Living Surfaces (MIT Press, 2024).
