I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Center for Humanities Computing at Aarhus University and hold a PhD in History from Leiden University. My research focuses on using quantitative methods to analyse how long-lasting, generational changes in information and literary culture related to the culture of non-elites across the social strata, predominantly but not exclusively in early modern Europe. I am particularly interested in such questions as the literary practices of marginalized groups, the effect new information landscapes had on local cultures, and the relationship between broader 'national' narratives of cultural heritage and the lived cultural experience of individuals outside of these traditional, cultural centres.
