Join us in this session, where we discuss how AI-tools related to images and similarity are currently being used in the digital humanities. Barbara Tramelli kickstarts the discussion with a presentation on ImageMatching Software and other AI-tools for recognizing visual material.

Barbara Tramelli is Assistant Professor at the Free University of Bozen. Her research focuses on the written transmission of artistic knowledge, the interrelations between text and printed illustrations, and the new instruments and methods of Digital Art History and Iconography. She has been Research Grant Holder at the Venice Centre for Digital and Public Humanities (2019-2022), Visiting Fellow at St. Benet's Hall, University of Oxford (2019-2020), and she has been in charge of the international project 'The Illustrated Book in Lyon, 1480-1600’, funded by the CNRS (2016-2022).
