Coding by night v3.0
Want to learn how to make a video game? And enjoy free dinner while doing it?
Join us for Coding by Night, where we learn how to create playable games, share skills, and have a great time doing it.
What we're building:
In this third mini-series, we'll create a small, working video game together using Unity. I'll guide you through every step, no experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
What you'll do:
- Design a game world with 3D objects, lights, and materials
- Make things move, jump, and respond to controls
- Add physics, collisions, and game rules
- Walk away with a game you helped create
What you'll get:
- Hands-on experience with Unity, the tool used by professional game studios
- New skills you can apply to any project
- Free dinner, good company, and a supportive space to learn
Two sessions:
📅 Session 1 — 11/05/2026 15:00-19:00 Adorno 114B - Sign up here.
Building the game world (no coding)
We'll use Unity's editor to create the environment, main character, and visuals. Perfect for complete beginners.
📅 Session 2 — 18/05/2026 15:00-19:00 Adorno 114B - Sign up here.
Making it interactive (coding in C#)
We'll add controls and game logic. Some coding experience in an object-oriented programming language (e.g., JavaScript) is required.
The vibe:
We meet for a few hours, build the game together step-by-step, help each other out, and celebrate the small wins. It's relaxed, collaborative, and built around the idea that making things is more fun with other people.
No pressure. Just progress. And pizza.
