Part 1: Sound in Historic Artist Homes: insights from 3 years of sound experiments

In the first part of the meeting, she will present her 3-year research collaboration with Skagens Museum and Johannes Larsen Museum and share insights from five sound experiments conducted at the two museums. Based on this, she will discuss how various types of sonic communication can support visitor experiences at historic homes. She will also discuss how sound can open up for new interpretations of the collections and historic sites.

Part 2: Historic House Museums in the Nordic Countries: An interdisciplinary book project

In the second part of the meeting, she will present an interdisciplinary book project on Historic House Museums in the Nordic Countries. The anthology is initiated by the Danish Network for House Museums, and brings together 25 articles from Finland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. In the presentation, she will present the overall ambitions for the project, cases from the book and insights into the collaborative process of making an international book. She will also discuss, and ask for feedback on, how the book can be promoted internationally in the museum community.

The seminar will be conducted in English.
