Berit Andersen specialices in cancer screening from a population perspective. Her research focuses on risk-stratified screening, emerging technologies, improving equity in screening participation, and initiatives aimed at eliminating cervical cancer.
In addition to serving as Clinical Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Berit Andersen is Head of the University Clinic for Cancer Screening (UNICCA) and Chief Physician at the Department of Public Health Programmes, Randers Regional Hospital. She is MD specialised in Community Medicine.
Berit Andersen is a member of the steering committees for Denmark’s three national quality databases for cancer screening programmes (SundK) and the national steering committees for cancer screening, where she serves as Chair of the breast cancer and cervical cancer screening. She also serves on advisory committees under the Danish Health Authority within her area of expertise.
