Head of: the international researcher network WARCnet (2020-23, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark | Humanities), the Centre for Digital Methods and Media (2020-), NetLab, part of the Danish Digital Humanities Lab (2014-22), and the Centre for Internet Studies (2010-21). Coordinator of the European network RESAW, a Research Infrastructure for the Study of Archived Web Materials. Co-founder and Managing editor of the international journal Internet histories: Digital technology, culture and society (2017-). Participates in the research projects ‘A history of online virality (HIVI)’ (2021-24), the C²DH (Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History), funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), and ’AWAC2 — Analysing Web Archives of the COVID Crisis through the IIPC Novel Coronavirus dataset’ (2021-22), the C²DH (Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History), funded by the Archives Unleashed Cohorts Program.
Have co-initiated the research infrastructure project NetLab (2012-17) within the Digital Humanities Lab, and the research projects "Probing a Nation's Web Domain — the Historical Development of the Danish Web" (2014-) and "the history of dr.dk, 1996-2006" (2007-). Have previously initiated the research projects "Method study of the integration of internet material directly received from producers" (2007) and "Theories of Media and Communication — Histories and Relevance" (2003-04), and have participated in the research projects "De #jesuischarlie à #offenturen: archives et archivage du patrimoine nativement numérique face aux attentats" (2016), "Big UK Domain Data for the Arts and Humanities" (2014-15), "LARM" (2010-14), "the Knowledge Society" (2006-08), "MODINET (Media and Democracy in the Network Society)" (2002-05), and "netarkivet.dk" (2001-02).
