Art Rethinks Transformation for Training (ART4T) is conceived and promoted by MeNO (Palermo, Italy) in partnership with Aarhus University (Denmark) and funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The programme explores innovative non-formal training methodologies in the field of interdisciplinary contemporary art, based on sharing the process of artistic creation between teachers and learners.
ART4T’s basic premise is that art is born from the collective and collaborative confrontation of the artists with each other and with others and from the encounter of different cultural heritages and social living contexts. Based on these prompts, a heterogeneous group of 18 emerging artists from various European countries and from a diversity of numerous disciplines and backgrounds have collaborated for the past year experimenting with modes of artistic co-creation. The group was mentored by internationally renowned artists Egle Oddo (Palermo/Helsinki) and Gry Worre Hallberg (Sisters Hope, DK) and the curator Basak Senova (Vienna/Istanbul). Their work was exhibited at the BAM Biennale Arcipelago Mediterraneo in September 2022 in Palermo (Italy). From 16th to 26th January, the group will come together for its final workshop in Copenhagen and Aarhus.
You are kindly invited to encounter and meet the artists and their work, and to hear more about the project from Egle Oddo, Gry Worre Hallberg, Basak Senova and the project coordinators Roberto Albergoni (MeNo) and Peter M. Boenisch (AU Dramaturgy).
