Profile

I am a PhD student at the School of Communication and Culture, Department of English. Originally from Esbjerg, Denmark, I moved to the UK in 2020 first to pursue my BA in English Literature at Cambridge. Before returning to Denmark to start my PhD at Aarhus in 2025, I completed my MSt in English Language and Literature (1550–1700) at Oxford.

My research focuses predominantly on the intersections between early modern literature and its adjacent fields, particularly natural philosophy, material culture, and theology. My PhD project looks at the Royal Society, the first English-speaking institution dedicated to natural philosophy (what we now refer to as science). The project examines the ways in which the Society’s early members (1660–1690) engaged with, appropriated, and reimagined the heroic forms of epic and romance, and explores the larger literary and generic implications of their heroic engagements.
