Profile

Profile

I am a doctor and researcher with a broad interest in all fields of oncology, and a particular focus on equality in health care - especially for cancer patients living with severe mental disorders. Currently, I am a registrar in clinical oncology and a PhD student at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University and the Department of Oncology, Aarhus University Hospital. My PhD research centers on the development of complex interventions and mixed-methods evaluation, aiming to improve outcomes for underserved patient populations.

Work Areas

As a registrar in clinical oncology, I am engaged across all areas of oncology. I have a longstanding passion for education and teaching and actively contribute to the training of future healthcare professionals.

Research

My research is dedicated to advancing equality in cancer care, with a focus on patients with severe mental disorders. By employing complex intervention methodologies and mixed-methods evaluation, I strive to develop strategies that enhance care quality and access for this often-overlooked group.

Teaching and Degree Programmes

I teach communication to medical students at the undergraduate level. Through interactive and engaging methods, I emphasize the importance of patient-centered care and effective communication strategies in clinical practice.

Collaborations

I collaborate with the Danish Cancer Society and Outreach at Lillebælt Hospital in the Region of Southern Denmark. Together, we aim to improve awareness and care pathways for cancer patients with severe mental disorders.

Consultancy and Engagement

Drawing on my research, I advise colleagues to maintain a curious, empathetic approach and to prioritize patient-centered treatment plans that involve cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary collaboration. Since 2023, I have also served as a board member of the Danish Psycho-Oncology Cooperative Group (DPOC), where I contribute to national efforts to integrate psycho-oncology into standard cancer care.
