The Department of Comparative Literature and Rhetoric is one of the nine departments at the School of Communication and Culture, Aarhus University. The department offers degree programmes within the fields of Comparative Literature, Children’s Literature and Rhetoric, including professional Master’s degree programmes in Rhetoric and Children’s Media and Literature.
The department includes approximately 15 permanently affiliated lecturers and professors (professors, associate professors and assistant professors), as well as an additional number of external lecturers. In addition, there are approximately 10 PhD students at the department.
The researchers at the department collaborate with researchers from other departments on interdisciplinary research projects on for example Literature between Media, Reading Slavery and Posthuman Aesthetics.
Employees at the Department often appear in the media as experts on rhetoric and literature, and they disseminate their research through lectures at the Danish University Extension, as well as in text books on for example rhetoric or literary analysis.
