The Center for Rhetoric serves as a hub for collaborative initiatives and ties knots between key Scandinavian and international research environments as well as between academia and external stakeholders.
Research at the Center for Rhetoric covers a wide range of topics and methods, from speechwriting to style to social media; from close reading to cultural memory studies to contextual-textual analysis. We are invested in coming to terms with all forms of persuasion in the present moment as well as in understanding exchanges of opinions that may appear historically or geographically distant.
Among the themes of our current projects are climate communication, disruptive forms of rhetoric, accusations on digital platforms, narrative rhetoric, and the rhetoric of entrepreneurship.
