Department of Digital Design and Information Studies is among the strongest IT‑focused academic environments in Europe and attracts visiting researchers and PhD students from around the world.
Our researchers, lecturers, and students explore how digital technologies shape people’s everyday lives, society, and future, and our research actively contributes to understanding and addressing the major technological and ethical challenges of our time.
We host a wide range of externally funded research projects and participate in broad, interdisciplinary collaborations both nationally and internationally.
Teaching is planned in close dialogue with the research environment and with external partners and companies in both private and public sectors.
We are part of the School of Communication and Culture and are located on Aarhus University’s campus in the IT City in Aarhus N. From here, we help shape the digital landscapes of the future—critically, creatively, and in close interaction with the world around us.
