CNCS Welcome Event 2022 at Durham University on Wednesday 12 October from 16:00-18:00 (British time) with keynote from Professor Bernard Lightman.

Nineteenth Century Studies and the Global Context: Strategies for Engagement
Bernard Lightman will discuss various strategies for nineteenth century studies scholars to begin to work on linking interdisciplinary research to understanding the rapidly changing global context of the period.  He will explore how undertaking research that moves out from a specific geographical region into a transnational or global context has the potential to transform the way we do our work, and how we think about nineteenth century studies as a field of study.
