Aesthetic Knowledge of Political Emergence: A Research Workshop Conversation with Professor Stefan Jonson, Institute for Research on Migration, Ethnicity and Society (REMESO), Linköping University

Moderator: Jan Ifversen, Professor European Studies, IKS, Aarhus University.

Stefan Jonsson’s research is transdisciplinary, with several books on modernism, modernity and political aesthetics in relation to crowds, colonialism, nationalism, racism, migration, diversity, most importantly Subject Without Nation, 2001, A Brief History of the Masses 2008, Crowds and Democracy, 2013, and Eurafrica, co-authored with Peo Hansen. He is currently completing a project on political aesthetics in relation to the twenty-first-century crowd. In this informal workshop conversation, we will have not only discuss his work, but also have the opportunity to have an exchange on methodological research questions and gain an insight into the machine room of Stefan’s work and research.
