Svend Erik Larsen has been appointed Yangtze River Chaired Visiting Professor at the School of Literature and Journalism, Sichuan University, Chengdu from 2016 to 2019.

The Yangtze River (Chiangjiang) programme is a prestigious and highly competitive elite programme built on three instruments: distinguished professorships to Chinese full professors, visiting professors and distinguished associate professorships to Chinese associate professors.

The aim of the visiting professorships is to develop and strengthen the international dimensions at the host institutions, primarily by working together with junior researchers, Master's students and PhD students.

The institutions apply for the visiting professorships, which are selected by the Chinese Ministry for Research on the recommendation of a peer-review committee. This year, 52 visiting professorships have been granted across all disciplines. Publication of the appointments is in Chinese, but in the second group, comprising the visiting professors,  names in Roman script can be found (View full list in Excel document):  http://www.moe.edu.cn/srcsite/A04/s8132/201601/W020160111656094838167.xlsx
