Meet the Interns: Antonina Jasztal and Dominika Męcina
The Lab is proud to host two Polish interns in the spring of 2023: Antonina Jasztal and Dominika Męcina, who will be designing promotional materials for the Third Annual Aarhus Workshop on Recreational Fear.
We are Antonina and Dominika and we are art students from Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce (Poland).
We were looking for an internship in Denmark, and we learned about Aarhus University from a Polish employee of the Department of Exchange and International Cooperation. While looking for a person willing to accept interns on the AU website, we found Professor Mathias Clasen and found his field of activity extremely fascinating. It turned out that the Recreational Fear Lab organizes an annual workshop, for which we could design posters to advertise the event. It gave us the opportunity to gain experience and use our favorite color (black).
We love horror movies, but with each horror movie we watch, it becomes harder and harder to be pleasantly scared. Controlled fear is a lot of fun, so we think it's worth reading to children from the Brothers Grimm while adults can watch scary movies. We recommend The Others (Antonina) and Jeepers Creepers (Dominika) the most.
