Daniela Agostinho, assistant professor and co-director of the Centre for Critical Data Practices, is one of the fifty Fellows at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Amsterdam.
During the fellowship period between September 2024 and January 2025, Daniela will be working on her monograph "Archival Encounters" which explores the role of colonial archives in retelling the past and offering new narratives for the future record. Based on ongoing artistic and curatorial research, the book shows how artistic practices offer new registers with which to access history, and create new archival forms that expand our understanding of the past and our capacity to reimagine it.
The Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS) provides fellowships for talented scholars, writers, journalists and artists; renowned and promising researchers alike.
