Doing Critical Things

DCT works under the assumption (and banner) that the contemporary landscape of "critical" studies is diverse and irregular. Thus, DCT sessions pursue to display relations between

  • a) diverse notions of the "critical",
  • b) the modes, routines, methods, and techniques in which a particular understanding of criticality is put into practice, and
  • c) the objects, subjects, or things unveiled, articulated, or antagonized through these practices

throughout different fields and situated forms of knowledge.

DCT invites researchers, artists, and activists to share novel methods or practices that put in action a critical approach: How can a critical approach be articulated into active practices? How to implement teaching-oriented or pedagogical research as a critical practice? Which kind of ethical struggles are brought to light by a critical practice?
