Online seminar in order to celebrate Rhetorica Scandinavica's new speciale issue on social movements in the Nordic countries
"Trustworthiness: The Rhetorical History of Trust in the Nordics" is the first in a series of seminars, investigating the rhetorical creation and reproduction of trust in the Nordics. The seminar takes place 28th September 2023.
To sustain the Nordic region's unique tendency for trust into the future, we require a solid research-based understanding of how this tendency came about. This series of workshops fills this gap, by way of an historical exploration of the rhetorical creation and reproduction of trust in the Nordics.
We invite proposals on the topic of Rhetoric and the New for a special issue of Rhetorica Scandinavica. Deadline for proposals is May 4 2023.
This course will not only give students the critical skills to identify, examine, and critique storytelling in scientific discourse, but will also critically teach students how to use narratives as a key strategy for science communication.
Center for Rhetoric brings together researchers from the humanities and the social sciences to examine the manifesto as it functions in Nordic publics. Call for papers here.
