Who are we?

Ocke-Schwen Bohn

Ocke-Schwen Bohn is the head of the project and professor of English linguistics. His research focuses on the sounds of language (phonetics and phonology) and on language acquisition, both in first and second or foreign language learning. This research has contributed to our understanding of universal language abilities in infants and has shed light on the ability of adults to acquire new speech sounds, thereby helping to dismiss the myth concerning a critical period for second language acquisition.
