Four workshops on Sound, Place and Life Stories
Center for Sound Studies co-host four workshops on the role of sound in communicating about people and the places they live, in the context of museums.
The workshop series Sound, Place and Life Stories, is arranged by Center for Sound Studies & the research project North Atlantic Everyday Stories (Nordatlantiske Hverdagsfortællinger), at Aarhus University.
The workshop series focuses on the role of sound in understanding and communicating about, people's lives in - and relationships with certain geographical places.
The purpose is to create an interdisciplinary knowledge exchange among researchers and museum staff, doing research or exhibitions about how people live in, or relate to places. The workshop series consists of four workshops:
- Why and how do we collect and research sounds in geographical places? (2024)
- Artistic approaches to sound in the museum context. (2025)
- Sound as a collection object - how? (2025)
- Sound and experience design at the museum (2025).
Dates and info for each workshop is announced under ‘events’, along the way.
