Emma Shachat visiting researcher
Emma Shachat will be visiting researcher at CRAPCC 22–30 April. Emma Shachat is a PhD student of Art History & Visual Studies at Lund University. Her research is concerned with contemporary art's relationship to technology and knowledge institutions, and the relative autonomy of the artist and the viewer therein. Her PhD dissertation focuses on selected contemporary artists who use remote sensing technologies (RSTs) as a medium for artistic research. She analyzes how these artists relate to RSTs and their associated concepts of objectivity, accuracy, and distance/remoteness.
