    I have submitted a new article (with historian Lourens Schuijtemaker, Lars Roobol and Femke Roobol) about documents in Dutch archives relating to Dutch immigration to Amager to Museum Amager’s research anthology (for publication in June 2023). The article will contain an overview of all the relevant information about the Dutch immigration to Amager in Dutch archives, corroborating the discovery that the settlers originated from West Frisia and, more precisely, the Hoorn-region.

    I have submitted a new article about the discovery and identification of rare books relevant to Amager to Museum Amager’s research anthology (for publication in June 2023).

    On this historical map of the Hoorn Region, one can see the villages under the city of Hoorn’s jurisdiction around 1520: Zwaag, Hauwert, Nibbixwoud, Wadway, Wognum, Berkhout, Grosthuizen, Oudendijk, Avenhorn, Scharwoude, Schardam en Beets. The last seven of these were part of the Veenhoop (‘pete-heap’).
