This fall, three members of the Center for Language and Artificial Intelligence (CLAI) will take part in a series of events organized by the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters (Videnskabernes Selskab). These events aim to foster debate and information exchange on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on various aspects of knowledge acquisition, skill learning, and written communication.

One event featuring CLAI affiliates Mads Rosendahl Thomsen and Cathrine Hasse together with Lene Aarøe, is entitled "Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Text Creation." This session will explore questions raised by the integration of AI into our daily lives, particularly regarding human creativity and the formation of public opinion. The discussions will revolve around the fundamental questions: What does it mean to be a thinking, creative human being? And how will AI influence our sense-making and public discourse?

Another event features Andreas Roepstorff: "Truth and Deception: Are We Talking to Humans or Robots?" This workshop will address the dual role of AI in modern digital platforms and social media. While AI can enhance our ability to navigate news and debates, it also brings forth sophisticated algorithms and chatbots capable of manipulating and spreading misinformation with unprecedented ease.

These VidenSkaber (“knowledge-creator”) events are designed to foster public engagement and understanding of scientific principles, encouraging participants to critically evaluate the information they encounter.
