Hands-on seminar: Using Large Language Models via API
Learn how use Large Language Models via an API and automate prompting procedures.
As Large Language Models (LLMs) are taking center stage in the current technological landscape, it's important to understand that they can be used in various ways. Most people use them through the interfaces created by the companies that train the large foundation models which is sufficient for most use cases. However, when you want to have more flexibility and customization, you need to be able to have more control over them. This means that you need to be able to use them through their APIs. Simply put, this means that you write some code specifying your parameters, pass your prompts to the API, and receive a response. We will look at how this is done, when and why you would need to do it, and what benefits this could bring you as the user.
10:00 - 10:30 Introduction to API: Key concepts, pros and cons, alternatives
