Many contemporary art practices experiment with form. Going beyond narrowly artistic concerns, this engagement often involves fundamental social and political debates on questions of hierarchy, horizontality, and centralization. To give form to the world is also to (re)organize it. Against the background of 1990s and early 2000s debates on the discourses and practices of ‘relational aesthetics’ and ‘tactical media’, this talk will outline an ‘organizational aesthetics’ as developed (in sometimes contradictory ways) by some of today's most relevant artists, activists, theorists, and collectives.

The talk lasts approximately 1,5 hours and will afterwards be open for questions and discussion!
