Tracing knowledge

In order for an investor to act in the best possible way on the investment market, he needs to have knowledge of not only the workings of the investment market, but also of the investment potential of the company in question. Investor Relations (IR) is the function in the company that is responsible for the communication between the company, the world of finance and other stakeholders, such as actual and potential investors. From the point of view of the company, the aim of IR is to ensure that the equity valuation of a company's shares is fair. But how does the specialized knowledge of the company that is communicated via IR turn into something that investors can use when they consider where to invest? This question is the point of departure for the project "Tracing Knowledge". The long-term aim of the project is to describe how the IR communication of a company through for instance its IR web-site and annual report helps create value-addedness for the investors in a way that they in return get a true and fair view of what a company is worth and thereby a good basis for acting.
