In collaboration with Læseforeningen and Skrivekunstskolen, Stefan and Dennis facilitated a writing and reading program at Godsbanen in Aarhus in February 2025 for young people aged 15 to 29 with a special interest in literature. The program was titled Young, Writing, Reading in a World on Fire.

Through literary reading and writing exercises, we explored feelings of powerlessness in the face of the climate crisis—how literature can give language to what might otherwise feel overwhelming. Participants read and discussed selected texts, created their own literary works, and drew inspiration from author Rasmus Theisen, who led writing exercises with the group. We were also visited by Professor Steen Ledet Christiansen from Aalborg University.

The program culminated in a fantastic final event with readings, bubbles, and a collective print publication created in collaboration with visual artist Kristian Johansen from Det Rullende Trykkeri. It was a moving and inspiring day where we celebrated the young voices and the texts that emerged along the way.

The project is, in addition to YoungLit, also part of the research project afmagt.dk
