Professor Jussi Parikka takes up the role as director of the research centre after Christian Ulrik Andersen, continuing the work in consolidating and supporting research into digital aesthetics and contemporary technological art practices at the School of Communication and Culture.

ELO 2021 launches next week with a variety of virtual talks, workshops, and arts performances from May 24th - May 28th, as well as several permanent online exhibitions.

In May, 2021, Digital Aesthtics Research Center (DDINF) will co-host the all-virtual ELO Conference and Media Arts Festival with the theme Platform (Post?) Pandemic.

Commenting on the power and control of technology the artwork uses the framework of the game 4-Card Monte to explore how we as users are led to believe that we are in control only to find out the game is rigged… The work has been selected for showcase at Ars Electronica Festival.

Researchers from Aarhus University, in partnership with VIVE, Aarhus Municipality and Business Academy Aarhus, have received a grant from VELUX FONDEN for a project they call LIVSTEGN (which means “sign of life” in Danish). The project involves close collaboration between researchers, dementia patients, their families and their care staff.
