Info about event

Time

Wednesday 21 November 2018,  at 19:00 - 21:00

At art institutions, project spaces and in public space we see the outcome of curators’ work, but as visitors we rarely get access to the processes that come before the exhibitions. The talk series How We Curate cracks open the door to the curatorial engine room: What kind of thinking underpins the exhibition, how does it take shape, and in what ways do local and global contexts influence the exhibition? Throughout the fall of 2018, eight Danish curators will present and discuss their practices.

The event on November 21 focuses on new contemporary art institutions: Carl Martin Faurby is curator at Kunsthall Trondheim, which has only been around for a couple of years, and Marie Dufresne is director and curator at Kunsthal 6100 in Haderslev, which doesn’t open until 2019. Furthermore, both institutions are the first contemporary art institutions in Trondheim and Haderslev.

The event is in Danish and will be introduced and moderated by Trine Friis Sørensen (Postdoc, Kunsthal Aarhus and Aarhus University). The last How We Curate event in 2018 takes place on December 5 and welcomes Rhea Dall, who is director and curator at UKS in Oslo, and Toke Lykkeberg, who is curator and head of Tranen in Gentofte.

The lecture is public and we welcome everybody
