Mission and Vision

Focus on specialised knowledge
To a knowledge society, creation of specialised knowledge is essential. But specialised knowledge alone is not enough to secure the prosperity and development of a knowledge society. To achieve this end, you must be able to communicate your specialised knowledge to others in such a way that they will make good use of your knowledge.

Innovative research area
The research area of knowledge communication is innovative, since it does not exclusively concern itself with communication as a concept or with specialised knowledge as such, but with both the communication or dissemination of specialised knowledge. Thus, the aspects of construction and communication of specialised knowledge are included in our research. In practise, knowledge communication research is centered on social problems like the dissemination of research results to specialists and laymen, the development of concepts by experts and the democratisation of knowledge.

Aims
The research of the group aims at:

  • contributing to and influencing the development of the knowledge society and its conditions
  • contributing to and influencing the discussion on the fusion, democratisation and use of specialised knowledge at individual level, at a business and organisational level and at a social level.

Mission
Our mission is to be the one place where research into knowledge communication is constantly developed in the cross-field between construction and communication of specialised knowledge.

Vision
Our vision is to be the international reference point and catalyst of innovative research into knowledge communication.
